R&D Innovation Center

BGW s.p. z.o. o Research & Development Center was established to conduct bioprocess research focused on developing novel technologies and improving existing operations. The R&D Center poses state of the art facilities permitting implementation of advanced bioprocessing, microbial, molecular biology and analytical technologies.

Molecular Biology & Microbiology (MB&M)

The core capabilities of the MB&M laboratory are the following technologies: WGS, Real Time PCR, Flow Cytometry, Cell Sorting, Karyotyping, Fluorescent Microscopy, Stress Response Testing, Classical Hybridization)

Bioprocess Development (BD)

The core capabilities of the BD laboratory are state of the art fermentation platforms from 1ml to 10,000 L, allowing for complete real time automated process controls.

Analytical Chemistry (AC)

The core capacities of the AC laboratory are focused on implementation of diverse instrumental and other analytical methods allowing for quantification of targeted compound even in very challenging matrices.

  • UPLC, ICP-MS, GC, Elemental Analysis, Mass Spectroscopy, Bioanalysis.

Novel Yeast Products

Depending on final ethanol product specifications and manufacturing process constrains BGW s.p. z.o.o provides pure or complex yeast strain cultures in various products formats.  Selecting BGW’s yeast products is combined with product performance guarantee, process performance validation and optimization technical support. Yeast product catalog for beverage, industrial and fuel applications is available upon request.

  • Accent GSY™ is a naturally selected enhanced genetically stable yeast strain with improved performance under stress conditions developed for grain-based ethanol fermentation processes. General performance characteristics: stable performance in batch or continuous processes, higher process temperatures and standard pH range.
  • Foundation GSY™ is a naturally selected enhanced genetically stable yeast strain developed for grain-based ethanol fermentation processes. General performance characteristics: stable performance in batch or continuous processes, standard process temperature and pH range. High ethanol tolerance in combination with other stress factors allows this genetically stable yeast strain to be used in most demanding industrial environments. Distributed under license.
  • Cogent GSY™ is a naturally selected enhance genetically stable yeast strain with improved ethanol performance characteristics under stress conditions and native glucoamylase enzyme activity developed for grain-based ethanol fermentation processes. Expression of native glucoamylase enzyme allows for significant savings associated with decrease usage of purchased enzymes.
  • Rational GSY™ is a naturally selected enhanced genetically stable yeast strain with improved performance characteristics under stress conditions and genetically enhanced glucoamylase activity developed for grain-based ethanol fermentation processes. Distributed under license.
